Tina Stimson (AISTA/ AIDTA) School Principal

Tina Stimson

Tina was born in North London and started dancing at the age of 7 at her local dance school. After winning many competitions in Disco Freestyle, Rock N Roll and Ballroom & Latin and also taking classes in Ballet, Tap and Modern, she knew she wanted to be a professional dancer. She went on to gain a place at the Margaret Howard Theatre College. During her training Tina took many lead roles and graduated college with a National Diploma in Musical Theatre and her ISTD Teaching Qualifications.

After teaching for Victoria Hughes for 5 years Tina took over the school and became the principal of VJ Dance in January 2018. Tina has her teaching qualifications with both the ISTD and the IDTA in Freestyle, Rock n Roll, Street, Ballet, Tap and Modern. She is always looking at expanding the school, offering many dance opportunities and passing on her knowledge and experience to her pupils.

Sarah Catlow BA (Hons) GCSE Dance Tutor (QTS)

Sarah-Catlow-Photo120Sarah joined VJ Dance in January 2017 and runs the GCSE Dance course within the school. She is a qualified secondary school teacher and has been working in the arts industry for over 10 years. Sarah is currently head of the dance department at her secondary school. Sarah has been a GCSE and A level dance exam moderator for 7 years.

Sarah has directed many dance shows and events through her secondary school experience and has taken students to perform in London and Barcelona. She is extremely keen to promote dance and performing arts to all of her students.

Carly Newman (Ballet & Contemporary Teacher)

Carly Newman photoCarly began her dance training at age 3 with her Mom as her teacher. She spent a lot of her childhood at the studio idolizing her Mother and the older students and fostering a lifelong passion for dance.
Carly trained and completed her teacher training at Jansen School of Dance and also trained at The Royal Winnipeg Ballet, Broadway Dance Centre in New York & Manhattan Tap Company.

At 10 Carly danced in Brigadoon at Rainbow Stage, and at 16 she danced in the Winnie the Pooh Friendship day shows at Assiniboine Park for Disney/Jungle Entertainment. Knowing she was born to dance she toured Western Canada as a dancer and choreographer.

Carly is very excited to be joining VJ Dance as our Ballet and Contemporary Dance Teacher. As well as teaching Carly is also studying Amatsu. A form of rehabilitation for dancers with injuries.

Anna Chapman (Class Assistant)

Anna Chapman - Dance Teaching AssistantAnna has been dancing at The Victoria Jane School of Dance since she was 5 years old. Anna has a big passion for dance and has studied a number of dance genres: Ballet, Disco Freestyle, Tap, Rock n Roll and Street. Anna has taken many dance exams and has performed in all the VJ dance shows. She is a regular performer at the Radlett Centre performing in the yearly pantomime.

Anna is at a Gold Star freestyle and Rock n Roll Level; she also recently passed her GCSE Dance and is also working towards her Intermediate Freestyle examination with the ISTD. Anna hopes to pursue her passion in dance and performing with attending Dance College in the near future.
